Seasoned Actor, producer and humanitarian, Danny Glover the Hollywood star known for his famous big screen films “Lethal Weapon, Waffle Street and the dead don’t die” with Mel Gibson has honoured AIDO leadership with high level achievers Awards in recognition of the role and work the organisation (AIDO) is doing in upholding the Spirit of Ubuntu and championing the global Africa reconnection movement.
The AWARDS were presented to AIDO leaders by Dr Monica Sanchez, a philanthropist and human rights defender, United Nations representative and the founder of Miss CARICOM International at the AIDO Royal Gala Dinner that took place on the 25th of November 2023 at Hilton hotel in London.
The recipient’s of these high level achievements included, His Highness Paul Eganda, global president of AIDO and Her Highness Queen Grace Eganda, Princess Ulrike Pohlman the chairperson AIDO board of directors, H.E Amb.Ireneo Namboka the global vice president AIDO, Eng. Teddy Curran Head of Human Rights Directorate, H.E Margaret Aceger, Director of Culture, Chief Bekhinzalo Robinson Rollingston, and Prince Udoh Pohlman, Ultimate AIDOER 2023
The actor has gained respect for his wide-reaching community activism and philanthropic efforts, with a particular emphasis on advocacy for economic justice and access to health care and education programs in the United States and Africa.
He has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program, focusing on issues of poverty, disease, and economic development in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He currently serves as a UNICEF Ambassador and Ambassador for the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent.
The leadership of AIDO also received certificates of recognition from ‘Platinum Who’s Who’, an initiative under Miss CARICOM International Foundation, a United Nations Consultative status NGO led by HE.Dr Monica Sanchez.
These recognitions are an inspiration to AIDO’s commitment to continue advocating for social justice in the spirit of UBUNTU.
