In the elegant setting of the Uganda High Commission in London, history was made with the launch of the UK-Uganda Lawyers Association (UULA). This special occasion brought together Ugandan legal professionals, community leaders, and dignitaries to celebrate a shared vision of unity, justice, and progress.
His Highness Papa Paul Jones Eganda I, President of Aido Network International and Head of the Global African Diaspora Kingdoms, graced the event with a heartfelt keynote speech. Accompanied by Queen Grace Eganda, His Highness described UULA as a beacon of hope for the diaspora, a platform where the knowledge and expertise of Ugandan lawyers has come together to create sustainable impact.
“The legal profession is a cornerstone of societal progress,” he said. “Through your dedication and advocacy, justice finds its voice, and vulnerable communities find their strength. Today, with UULA, a new chapter begins.”
Queen Grace Eganda added her voice to the moment, standing as a symbol of continued support, the Secretary-General of AIDO confirmed that “AIDO is committed to working with UULA ” in pursuit of justice and social progress.
Her Excellency Ambassador Nimisha Madhvani, Uganda’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, highlighted the Ugandan governments support for UULA, calling this a vital bridge between Ugandans in the diaspora and those back at home in Uganda.
At the heart of it all was UULA’s President Counsel Frances Smith and the executive team whose leadership and dedication were celebrated by all present.
The evening was filled with heartfelt pride and great hope for the future.
In his closing remarks , His Highness Papa Eganda shared an inspiring vision with the audience : “Imagine a world where every Ugandan lawyer, wherever they may be, is part of a thriving network that supports and uplifts them. UULA is the foundation of that dream, and together, we can grow with UULA.”
HH continued to state that “UULA is set to shine as a cornerstone for excellence of service and empowerment of Uganda and her diaspora”.
