Aido Chairman, Mr Paul Eganda pleaded for Karamong Children at the UN Human Rights Convention yesterday.

The Convention themed, ‘Human Rights, Where are we at? Past and Future’, brought together many Human Rights organisations.

The Chairman brought the house to tears when he elaborated the plight of the children entrapped in modern day slave trade.

The children, sold for as little as USD10, are taken across the border to Nairobi where they are kept in derogatory conditions, before they are sold off, many to terrorist organisations.

He reported that the issue had been widely discussed within the Aido network. Aido had also lobbied for intervention of the Ugandan Government, although a clear resolution was yet to be reached.

The Convention will close today with the UN holding one to one discussions with UN agencies working in Africa.
