African kings, queens and traditional leaders will be among high-profile participants at a one-day symposium being staged Thursday at The University of the West Indies (The UWI), Mona campus, to discuss a range of issues relating to slavery and which, the organisers expect, will change the long-held view that African royals had a hand in one of the greatest crimes against humanity.

In response to the invitation extended to us by the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the CARICOM Reparations Commission (CRC), AIDO is pleased to announce that a delegation comprising ten (10) persons including African royalty, academia and distinguished Traditional Leaders, will travel to Jamaica and participate as resource persons during the planned activities to mark the 75th Anniversary of the University of West Indies and the 10th Anniversary of the CARICOM Reparations Commission. The visit is scheduled for 28 February to 6 March 2023 in Jamaica.
