London, September 15, 2024 — AIDO has set a new benchmark in international cultural diplomacy with its recent landmark initiative designed to foster global understanding and cultural unity. Under the leadership of HH Paul Jones Eganda I, founder and president of AIDO, the organization has garnered significant attention for its innovative approach to global cultural exchange and dialogue.
The recent two-day International Cultural Diplomacy event in London provided a crucial platform for addressing pressing global issues and exploring collaborative solutions. Held at the prestigious Savoy Hotel, the event was attended by government leaders, diplomats, security agencies, academics, and royalty from across Africa, who played a pivotal role in the discussions.
Dr. Lady Kendal Jaggar, instrumental in organizing and orchestrating the event, was key in uniting this influential group of stakeholders. Her dedicated efforts ensured a dynamic and productive dialogue, setting the stage for meaningful exchanges and partnerships. Among the notable figures present were Dr. Yehoeshahfaht Ben Israel, Dr. Sheikh Ramzy, Dr. Angela Soong, Dr. Nick Vintila, Her Highness Queen Grace Eganda I, the Secretary-General of AIDO, Manye Naa Tsotsoo Soyoo I of Ghana, Dr. Caroline Purvey, and Dr. Daniel Wood.
Dr. Purvey and Dr. Wood presented their “Release Recover Discover” program, a transformative initiative aimed at addressing trauma and empowering youth in Malawi. Their presentation offered valuable insights into their mission and demonstrated the significant positive impact of their work, which has inspired many attendees.
Dr. Ben Israel, a prominent advocate for global cultural diplomacy, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to engage with leaders and innovators. He emphasized the significance of Dr. Purvey and Dr. Wood’s work in providing new hope and resilience to young people affected by trauma.
The event also addressed several critical global issues, including ongoing tensions in regions such as Russia, Ukraine, and the Middle East. Dr. Ben Israel highlighted the need for unified global leadership to tackle these challenges and stressed the importance of incorporating African perspectives into future solutions.
Education and technology were key topics of discussion. Despite technological advancements, their benefits have not been evenly distributed, particularly in African countries. HH. Grace Eganda I, Secretary-General of AIDO, underscored the necessity of empowering youth through education and addressing existing disparities.
Additionally, the event explored the impact of technology on the mindset of younger generations. Dr. Ben Israel raised concerns about how technology influences judgments and perspectives, urging African leaders to consider these factors in their strategies.
The potential positive impact of the “Release Recover Discover” program was a recurring theme. Dr. Ben Israel advocated for the widespread adoption of this program’s methodologies to foster global collaboration and inspire leadership. He believes that the program could serve as a catalyst for change, addressing both historical and contemporary traumas and promoting unity.
This initiative aligns with AIDO’s mission of reconnecting and resettling the African diaspora, further reinforcing the organization’s commitment to Ubuntu and cultural diplomacy, as highlighted by the AIDO Secretary- General, HH. Queen Grace Eganda.
The leaders present expressed a strong commitment to continuing these dialogues and collaborating on projects that bridge cultural divides and enhance global understanding. The success of the recent event and the positive feedback from participants suggest a promising future for AIDO’s efforts in international cultural diplomacy.
As global challenges persist, AIDO remains at the forefront of fostering cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration, paving the way for a more interconnected and empathetic global community.
